Hello anon,

With the recent surge in anonymous protest, and the public attention it has and continues to receive, I have decided to begin drafting an Anonymous Manifesto. As an individual, I have, of course, no special right to speak upon the intentions of anonymous, so my aim is rather, not to speak authoritatively, but simply to educate the public on who and what we are, (insofar as that can even be defined) so that they can understand us on our own terms, rather than through the bias and ignorance of popular media.

I will speculate on the implications of a classless digital government – extol upon the benefits and inherent equality of anonymous communication, and show people that we are a cause to be supported, rather than feared.

Of course, I am only one anon, and my knowledge has its limits, so I would like to reach out to you, my brothers, and ask for help in my quest – that is, to show the world that we are a force of positive social change, and to rally their support.

The constituents of anonymous are of course, all of us, completely different people, with different beliefs, and that is why I would love the Manifesto to have a collaborative quality to it. So, again, I ask for your support. I would love to hear any ideas you may have. Similarly, if you have any articles or documents that you feel are particularly important to the composition of this work, I would love to read them. Or if you’d simply like to say a few words, or just follow along with my progress, I am all for that too.
